The artist says that spraying these objects with silver colour "commemorates death by fixing them in an illusion of
life." Like small reliquaries, these objects portray peaceful and domestic images of everyday items that engage the viewer
in a nostalgic game of postmortem make-believe.
By simplifying, to the extreme, the artist's intervention upon these various objects, Gekko has produced a series of work that is
visually singular. The series is completed by a series of photographs ("on display") which shows these objects as if they were the object of a scientific or museal manipulation in order to put
their ephemeral character in context.
